BEFORE STARTING THE CONVERSION MAKE SURE THAT THE MACHINE IS TURNED OFF AND THE POWER CORD IS UNPLUGGED.
Remove the screws holding the rear cover (top cover on APQS machines) and flip the cover on the side.
On Gammill machines remove the protective cover from the CPU board.
Locate the main chip next to the phone connectors. The socket has two wider slots at opposite corners. Push the hooked end of the enclosed chip puller in one of the slots and lift the chip out of the socket.
Insert the new chip, making sure that the slanted corner of the chip is aligned with the slanted corner of the socket. The chip should sit in the socket as the picture shows. Push the chip all the way down.
